The Middle School English Intra-Class Story Writing Activity was successfully conducted on 19 January 2026 during the respective English periods across classrooms at The Khaitan School. Designed to strengthen students’ creative writing abilities, the activity encouraged originality, structured thinking, and effective language use, in alignment with CBSE writing competencies.

Students from Grades VI to VIII participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing impressive imagination and narrative depth through their stories. Each grade was provided with a carefully curated topic along with guiding prompts, enabling students to develop a coherent and engaging storyline within a prescribed word limit.
Grade VI students wrote on “A School Day That Changed Everything”, focusing on unexpected events and personal responses, bringing to life moments of surprise, growth, and reflection.
Grade VII explored themes of suspense and responsibility through “The Message That Appeared on My Screen at Midnight”, crafting gripping narratives filled with curiosity and anticipation.
Grade VIII reflected on moral values and decision-making in “The Silence I Should Not Have Kept”, presenting thoughtful stories that highlighted courage, accountability, and ethical choices.

The entries were evaluated using a CBSE-aligned marking rubric of 20 marks, assessing content relevance, creativity, organisation, language and expression, and mechanics. Students demonstrated strong engagement with their themes and made sincere efforts to include clear plot structures, vivid descriptions, and meaningful conclusions.
The activity provided an excellent platform for learners to express emotions, develop a unique narrative voice, and enhance writing accuracy through thoughtful storytelling. It also encouraged critical reflection and confidence, allowing students to communicate ideas with clarity and impact.
Overall, the Intra-Class Story Writing Activity proved to be a highly enriching and purposeful learning experience for the Middle School. By reinforcing creativity, responsibility, and effective communication, the event left a lasting impression on students and further strengthened their literary journey.
