In an era where digital transactions and online interactions have become an integral part of everyday life, The Khaitan School organised an insightful Digital Fraud Awareness Workshop for its teaching faculty in collaboration with ICICI Bank. The session aimed to sensitise educators to the rising threats of digital fraud and equip them with essential knowledge to safeguard themselves while effectively guiding students toward responsible digital practices.
The resource persons from ICICI Bank provided comprehensive insights into the evolving landscape of cybercrime, highlighting common forms of digital fraud such as phishing attacks, OTP scams, fake links, online payment frauds, and identity theft. Through real-life case studies, teachers gained a clear understanding of how such frauds occur and the warning signs that often go unnoticed in day-to-day digital interactions.
A significant focus of the workshop was on preventive measures and safe digital habits. Teachers were guided on best practices such as creating strong and secure passwords, recognising suspicious messages and calls, avoiding unauthorised or unknown links, and promptly reporting fraudulent activities. These practical tips empowered participants with actionable strategies to protect their digital identities and financial information.
This was followed by a pottery workshop, where students experienced the joy of hands-on creation. The activity encouraged creativity, focus, and patience, allowing students to explore their artistic abilities in a calm and engaging environment.
The day concluded with a warm bonfire, fostering bonding and reflection, followed by dinner at 8:00 p.m. Students retired for the night, eagerly looking forward to the experiences ahead.
The session was highly interactive, with teachers actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and clarifying doubts related to online safety and secure digital transactions. The open exchange of experiences and concerns added depth to the learning process and reinforced the relevance of the topic in contemporary times.
