It gives us immense pleasure to share that the students of Grades 6–8 Astronomy Club embarked on an enriching educational trip to Jantar Mantar on 18th February. The visit offered a unique opportunity for young learners to delve into India’s rich scientific heritage and gain firsthand insight into the fascinating world of astronomy.

During the visit, students explored the remarkable ancient astronomical instruments that have stood the test of time. Through guided explanations and interactive learning experiences, they discovered how these large-scale structures were ingeniously designed to measure time, track celestial bodies, and observe the movement of the sun and stars with impressive precision.

The hands-on exposure allowed students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, deepening their understanding of key astronomical concepts. Observing the functionality of these instruments in real time sparked curiosity and encouraged students to think critically about the scientific methods used by astronomers in ancient India.

Beyond academics, the trip fostered a deep appreciation for India’s scientific achievements and its longstanding contributions to the field of astronomy. It also reinforced the importance of experiential learning, inspiring students to explore, question, and discover beyond the confines of the classroom.

The visit proved to be both educational and inspiring, leaving students with a renewed enthusiasm for astronomy and a greater awareness of the brilliance embedded in our cultural and scientific legacy.
