One of the most exciting and fun ways of learning is the art of Debating .It provides a platform for students to engage in discussions about various scientific topics.A good science debate not only shares knowledge but also ignites passion for scientific inquiry and fosters ongoing connections within the scientific community.Keeping this in mind, the Science department of The Khaitan School, hosted an exciting Science Debate Competition in the school’s AV room on 26th September, 2025 . The event aimed to encourage students to develop scientific temper, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
Highlights
The Science Debate began with emphasis on the importance of scientific inquiry and exploration.
Twelve student from class VI to VIII, one student from each house ie Meghalaya ,Nilgiri , Aravali and Shiwalik ,participated in the event who spoke on the topics given
Class 6- Animal testing is justified for scientific advancement
Class 7- Technology is making human less intelligent
Class 8 – Human cloning should be legalized
3. Two teams spoke in favor and two teams against.
Each student supported their thoughts with evidence presented on the slides.
5.In the end , Head of Middle School -Mr Sachin Sharma and Esteemed judge Ms Maneesha
Singh motivated the participants and students and declared the final Result .
The Winners of Science Debate Competition were-
Class VI-Shivansh Goel -Meghalaya House.
Class VII-Akshaj Sharma-Nilgiri House
Class VIII-Daksh Shukla-Meghalaya House
The event was a huge success as it motivated many of the students from the audience to participate in such Debates in the future.
