Hindi and Performing Arts Departments Collaborate for an Enriching Integrated Activity

The Khaitan School, Noida, organized an Integrated Activity collaboratively led by the Hindi Department and the Performing Arts Department, aimed at fostering creativity, expression, and interdisciplinary learning among students. The initiative beautifully merged the worlds of language and art, encouraging students to explore India’s diverse dance traditions while connecting them with their Hindi curriculum.

Under the able guidance of Ms. Manju Wazir, HOD, Performing Arts, students learned about the difference between classical and folk dances, delving into the history, essence, and cultural significance of these art forms. The highlight of the session was the presentation of two traditional Assamese dance forms — Satriya, a classical dance, and Bihu, a lively folk dance.

Tanishi Saharia, a student of Grade 8, enthralled the audience with her graceful Satriya performance, while students of Grade 6 presented an energetic Bihu dance, captivating everyone with their rhythm and spirit.

The performances not only showcased the beauty of Indian dance but also reflected how language and performing arts can together express deep emotions and cultural narratives. The activity complemented the Hindi lesson and project titled “भारत की अद्भुत् नृत्य कलाएं – एक अध्ययन व खोज”, helping students connect literature with real-life artistic expression.
