The Khaitan School, Noida, observed Mental Health Week across the ECCE, Primary, Middle, and Senior Wings with the objective of promoting emotional well-being, raising awareness about mental health, and encouraging positive coping strategies among students, teachers, and parents. Coinciding with World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2025, the week-long observance featured a series of interactive sessions, assemblies, and engaging class-based activities. A special selfie point highlighting the importance of mental health was also displayed within the school premises, spreading the message of mindfulness and positivity.

ECCE Wing
The youngest learners of the ECCE wing participated in age-appropriate activities designed to build emotional awareness. Teachers led interactive talks on healthy eating habits and guided children through positive affirmations and deep breathing exercises, helping them understand simple ways to care for their minds and bodies. Students of Grades 1 and 2 participated in a gratitude activity, expressing appreciation for the people and things that bring joy into their lives.

Primary Wing
The focus for the Primary Wing was on developing early emotional understanding and resilience. The Primary School Counsellor sensitized teachers to the significance of mental health, emphasizing that it is just as important as physical health. On 10th October, students attended a presentation on Emotional Well-being, where they learned to identify, understand, and express their emotions constructively.

Grade-specific activities reinforced these concepts:
Grade III: Planning and Scheduling – understanding organization as a tool to manage stress.
Grade IV: Forgiveness Activity – learning to let go of negative emotions and cultivate empathy.
Grade V: Journal Writing and Poster Making – encouraging self-reflection and creative expression.
Students also practiced positive affirmations, deep breathing, and gratitude exercises, cultivating lifelong habits for maintaining emotional balance.

Middle School
In the Middle School, the week began with an informative presentation on mental health for Grades VI–VIII, which addressed common myths, signs of stress and anxiety, and the importance of seeking help. The sessions introduced self-care practices like mindfulness and gratitude, encouraging students to prioritize emotional well-being.
The school counsellor conducted interactive, grade-specific activities:
Grade VI: Kindness Chain – promoting compassion through kind words and actions.
Grade VII: The Superpower Within Me – helping students recognize their inner strengths and resilience.
Grade VIII: Stress-Buster Chit Activity – sharing and exchanging stress management tips for healthy coping.
These engaging sessions helped students develop empathy, resilience, and self-awareness, fostering a positive emotional climate.

Senior Wing
In the Senior Wing, class counselling sessions for Grades IX–XII focused on the importance of mental health, early signs of distress, and effective coping mechanisms. Assemblies and interactive discussions encouraged open dialogue, helping reduce stigma around mental health issues and promoting help-seeking behavior.
A parent session titled “Balancing Mind and Future: Stream Selection with Mental Well-being and a Mindful Lifestyle” was conducted by Mr. Amit Mendiratta (Senior Wing Career and Behavioural Counsellor) and Dr. Neha Dutt. The session emphasized mindful decision-making, emotional balance, and supportive parenting during crucial academic transitions.

To further strengthen teacher well-being, a Stress Management Workshop for Senior School teachers was also organized, focusing on self-care, work-life balance, and classroom stress management techniques—recognizing that a teacher’s emotional wellness is vital for a positive and supportive learning environment.
Mental Health Week at The Khaitan School was a meaningful and impactful initiative that reinforced the importance of mental and emotional well-being as an integral part of holistic education. Through diverse activities and workshops, the school community—students, teachers, and parents alike—gained valuable insights into managing emotions, building resilience, and adopting a mindful approach to life. The observance successfully fostered a culture of empathy, openness, and proactive mental health care, reaffirming The Khaitan School’s commitment to nurturing happy, balanced, and emotionally intelligent learners.
