As part of its continuous efforts to expose students to emerging career opportunities, The Khaitan School organised a Career Awareness Workshop on Aerospace and the Space Industry for the students of Class XII on 23 July 2026. The session provided students with valuable insights into one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving fields, inspiring them to explore careers in science, technology, and innovation.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Ramesh Kumar, an accomplished academician and researcher, who is an alumnus of IIT Bombay and IIT Roorkee, holding B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. qualifications. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at UPES, Dehradun, Dr. Kumar brought a wealth of industry and academic experience to the session. Drawing from his professional journey, including his significant contribution to aircraft engine design at Rolls-Royce, he offered students a comprehensive perspective on the aerospace and space sectors.
During the session, Dr. Kumar introduced students to the diverse opportunities available in aerospace engineering, aviation, satellite technology, space exploration, and allied disciplines. He elaborated on the academic pathways leading to careers in these fields, the latest technological advancements, emerging trends, and the essential technical and analytical skills required to succeed in the industry. His practical insights and real-world experiences enabled students to better understand the exciting possibilities that the aerospace and space sectors offer.
