The Khaitan School successfully conducted the Student Cabinet Elections for the Academic Session 2026–27, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing leadership, responsibility, and democratic values among students. The elections followed a structured, transparent, and comprehensive multi-stage process that provided aspiring student leaders with an opportunity to demonstrate their vision, leadership qualities, and commitment to serving the school community.

The election process commenced with candidates submitting their applications through a Google Form, along with portfolios highlighting their achievements, leadership experiences, and contributions to school life. The first stage of the selection process was held on 6 July 2026, during which candidates prepared a position paper outlining their understanding of key student issues and proposing practical solutions. The submissions were assessed on the basis of clarity of vision, relevance, originality, and feasibility of ideas. Following a detailed evaluation by a faculty committee, deserving candidates were shortlisted for the next phase.

The shortlisted candidates appeared for panel interviews conducted between 13 and 15 July 2026. The interview panels comprised senior faculty members, including Heads of Departments, Form Heads, House Wardens, representatives from the Sports Department, and Student Cabinet Co-Incharges. Candidates contesting for the prestigious posts of President and Vice President were interviewed separately by Principal Mr. Sajeev P. Paruvanani, Head of Senior School Ms. Anjana Vashishtha, and Student Cabinet Incharge Ms. Shifa Nizami. The interviews assessed each candidate’s leadership potential, communication skills, confidence, decision-making ability, and problem-solving aptitude.

Following the selection process, the campaigning phase was conducted from 14 to 15 July 2026, during which candidates actively engaged with their peers through speeches, discussions, and interactive sessions to present their vision and seek support. The campaign encouraged healthy dialogue, respectful exchange of ideas, and responsible leadership. A major highlight of the election process was the Presidential Vision Presentation held on 21 July 2026, where candidates for the post of President shared their plans and aspirations for the student community. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and reflected the students’ commitment to democratic engagement.

To ensure impartiality and provide voters with time for thoughtful consideration, a mandatory silence period was observed on 23 July 2026. The final polling took place on 24 July 2026, with polling booths established across classrooms. Students cast their votes in a confidential, systematic, and orderly manner, following established electoral guidelines. The entire polling process was supervised by a dedicated Election Committee, ensuring complete transparency, fairness, and integrity. Ballots were securely counted, and the results were carefully verified before being officially declared.

The newly elected Student Cabinet will formally assume office during the Investiture Ceremony scheduled for 31 July 2026. As they embark on their leadership journey, the student leaders will work collaboratively with the school community to implement their proposed initiatives and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the institution.
The Student Cabinet Elections 2026–27 served as a valuable learning experience, reinforcing the principles of democracy, accountability, teamwork, and ethical leadership. Through this well-organised electoral process, The Khaitan School continues to empower students with the confidence, skills, and sense of responsibility required to become thoughtful leaders and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
