The auditorium resonated with the rhythm of Hindi poetry and the spirit of patriotism as The Khaitan School, Noida hosted its Inter-House Hindi Poem Recitation Competition on 4 August 2026. Bringing together young voices from all four Houses, the event celebrated Hindi literature while giving students a platform to express themselves with confidence and conviction.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and members of the School leadership—Ms Baljeet Kaur, Judge; Mr. Sajeev Philip, Principal; Mr. Sachin Sharma, HOMS; and Mrs. Preeti Gambhir, Curriculum Coordinator.

Representatives of Aravali, Meghalaya, Nilgiri, and Shivalik Houses participated in the competition, choosing patriotic compositions by celebrated poets including Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Shivmangal Singh Suman, Gopalkrishna Kaul, and others.
Each performance brought a different dimension to the theme of patriotism. Powerful verses were delivered with conviction, while carefully modulated voices, expressive gestures, and rhythmic recitation kept the audience engaged. The young poets demonstrated that reciting a poem is not simply about remembering lines—it is about understanding the emotion behind them and conveying that emotion to an audience.

The performances were assessed on expression, voice modulation, pronunciation, confidence, and overall presentation. The competition saw several impressive performances, with the following students securing the top positions:
First Position: Shivanya Arora – Meghalaya House; Siddhi Agarwal – Nilgiri House
Second Position: Vaibhavi Tripathy – Nilgiri House; Naavya Mahajan – Meghalaya House
Third Position: Snigdha Aggarwal – Nilgiri House; Shaurya – Aravali House
The winners will be felicitated with Certificates of Merit in recognition of their performances.

Addressing the participants at the conclusion of the event, Ms Baljeet Kaur, Mr. Sachin Sharma, and Mrs. Preeti Gambhir appreciated the efforts of all the students and encouraged them to continue exploring the richness of Hindi literature. They highlighted how poetry and recitation can contribute to the development of language proficiency, creativity, confidence, sensitivity, and effective public speaking.
The competition concluded on a celebratory note, leaving students inspired to explore literature with greater enthusiasm. More than a contest between Houses, the event became a celebration of language, expression, and the enduring power of poetry to connect young minds with ideas of courage, patriotism, and pride.
