Key Learning Areas

The workshop highlighted several core mathematical skills that form the foundation of effective learning:

  • Numbersense and multiplicative thinking

  • Use of the Empty Number Line (ENL)

  • Understanding of 3D shapes

  • Conceptual clarity of fractions and their equivalence

  • Geometry and spatial sense

  • Identification and classification of angles

  • Understanding closed figures

  • Development of analytical thinking and creativity

Hands-On Activities

What made the session truly impactful was the active participation of parents in a variety of engaging, hands-on activities. These included:

  • Juggling with Numbers

  • 3D Shapes using Jodo Straw Activity

  • Fraction Games

  • Taming the Tables

Parents were also introduced to Jodo Gyan Kits, which use manipulatives and visual tools to simplify complex concepts and make learning more tangible and enjoyable for children.
