With the objective of broadening students’ career perspectives and equipping them with knowledge about emerging professional opportunities, The Khaitan School organised a Career Awareness Workshop on “Company Secretary as a Career” for students of Classes XI and XII on 17 July 2026.
The informative session was conducted by CS Pradeep Chandra Joshi, Executive (Academics), Directorate of Student Services, ICSI Headquarters, who provided valuable insights into the profession of a Company Secretary (CS) and its growing significance in today’s dynamic corporate environment.
During the workshop, Mr. Joshi explained the pivotal role of a Company Secretary as a corporate governance professional entrusted with ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, promoting ethical business practices, and advising the Board of Directors on matters related to corporate laws and governance. He highlighted how Company Secretaries contribute to the smooth functioning of organisations by maintaining transparency, accountability, and adherence to statutory requirements.
The resource person also familiarised students with the complete CS course structure, including the eligibility criteria, examination pathway, essential competencies, and the diverse career opportunities available in both the corporate and public sectors. Students gained a comprehensive understanding of the profession and the skills required to excel in this highly respected career.
The session concluded with an engaging interactive discussion, during which students enthusiastically participated, asked insightful questions, and sought guidance on career planning and the scope of the Company Secretary profession. The interaction reflected the students’ curiosity and eagerness to explore career options beyond conventional fields.
