The Khaitan School organised the Inter-House Sanskrit Prose Reading Competition for students of Classes VII and VIII on 21 July 2026. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm, providing young learners with an excellent platform to showcase their proficiency in Sanskrit while enhancing their reading and public speaking skills.
The programme commenced with the warm welcome of the esteemed judge, Ms. Neetu Paul, Principal Mr. Sajeev Philip, H.O.M.S. Mr. Sachin Sharma, and Curriculum Coordinator Mrs. Preeti Gambhir. Their presence encouraged and inspired the participants to perform with confidence and dedication.
Students representing all four houses—Aravali, Meghalaya, Nilgiri, and Shivalik—participated wholeheartedly in the competition. Each participant was provided with a Sanskrit prose passage on the spot and given one minute to prepare before presenting it. The challenge tested not only their reading ability but also their presence of mind, confidence, and command over the language.
The participants impressed the audience with their fluent reading, accurate pronunciation, expressive delivery, and confident stage presence. Their performances reflected consistent practice, linguistic competence, and a genuine appreciation for the richness of Sanskrit. The participants were judged on the basis of pronunciation, expression, voice modulation, fluency, and confidence.

At the conclusion of the event, the judge, H.O.M.S., and Curriculum Coordinator applauded the sincere efforts of every participant. They appreciated the students for their remarkable fluency and accuracy in reading Sanskrit prose and highlighted that mastering the language requires dedication, regular practice, and perseverance. They encouraged students to continue nurturing their interest in Sanskrit, recognising its immense cultural and linguistic significance.
The competition proved to be an enriching and memorable experience for all, successfully fostering a deeper appreciation for the Sanskrit language while strengthening students’ confidence, reading proficiency, and public speaking skills. It served as a wonderful celebration of India’s rich linguistic heritage and the students’ commitment to preserving it.
