As part of its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of every child, The Khaitan School conducted a comprehensive awareness workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 on 30 June 2026. The workshop was organised in three separate slots to ensure the participation of all teaching and non-teaching staff members.
The sessions witnessed active participation from teachers, administrative personnel, security guards, helpers, housekeeping staff, and other support staff, reflecting the school’s holistic approach towards creating a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment for every student.
The workshop focused on enhancing awareness about the key provisions of the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act, while sensitising participants to recognise various forms of child abuse and neglect. The resource persons highlighted the responsibilities of every staff member in safeguarding children, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries, and responding effectively to any suspected or disclosed cases of abuse by following the prescribed reporting procedures.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of vigilance, empathy, confidentiality, and timely intervention in ensuring the safety and well-being of children. Through engaging discussions and real-life case scenarios, participants gained valuable insights into their role in fostering a culture of trust, protection, and accountability within the school community.
The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged participants to ask questions, clarify doubts, and understand the practical application of the legal provisions in everyday school settings. The sessions concluded with a reaffirmation of the collective responsibility shared by every member of the school community in upholding the highest standards of child protection and ensuring that every child feels safe, respected, and supported.
